Talking Removing Door Panels 2ES

I need a picture/diagram that shows me how to remove the door panels to gain access to the speaker for replacement. 1 has blown. also very disappointed that the factory amp pushes only 20 watts at peak.....so i will be replacing the other 1 as well. also, access to the rear speakers. thanks

To remove the door panels, you must first remove the screw in the door handle cup. Then, there are several plastic rivets that hold the door panel into place. You must first push the center in and then they will pop right out. Then carefully remove the trim piece around the inside door handle. The panel will now come off with some gentle tugging.

Sorry, can't help you with the rear speakers. I think you need to remove the back seat first. Not sure though.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the response. i am familiar with the screws in the handle cup, but what do you mean by push the center in? the center of the whole door? and the door panel is held by only clips?

There are a few little plastic circle type deals. These are what he talking about. If you posted this just a few days ago I could have taken pictures of it for you. I just did this on my driver door to find out my window regulater is bad. its not hard to do. Take your time and be gentle.

yeah you gotta remove the back seat to replace the speakers. first pull the bottom part of the seat off, you just grab by the 2 plastic peices and pull up, theyre not hard. then you unscrew the 2 bolts by the bottom corners of the back seat back panel. remove the third brake light, remove the two plastic clips and the pull up on the back panel of the back sit, it has two hooks it sits in. then remove the actual platform that sits overtop of the backseats in the windows. then you have access to your speakers. its best if you just re-wire everything. lexus didnt use actual speakers wires, but signal wires.

good luck...
