Default 95' Toyota Windom Trans Problem!!

Hello forumers.

I have a 95` Toyota Windom auto transmission and the tranny is getting me crazy. It wont change gear and just stay on 2nd gear all the time. Whenever i startoff it will start on 2nd gear and thats all no 3rd or 4th gear. If i pull it to L (1st gear) it will start off with 1st gear but push it to D again it will remain 2nd and no more. Reverse and N is working normal.

What i did :

1/ flush ATF
2/ replace tranny include torque converter and gear selector switch.
3/ adjust kick down cable

Any pros can help me out ?

Welcome to the Club.

Where did the replacement tranny come from and was any work done on it?

I have heard of some occasions where work was done on a transmission, poorly, and when the replacement tranny was put in, things were reversed or a situation similar to what you described.

The only thing one should have to make sure of with the installation of a new transmission is that the fluid is up to the proper level and the grounding wires are all attached. The only other thing that comes to mind is an issue with one or more of the transmission solenoids being bad. Those can be accessed via the transmission pan near the valve body.

Thanks for reply.

The fluid level and ground wires are nice and ok.

About the solenoid. I open the pan and remove the filter. I see no solenoid. Maybe i have to remove the valve body as well ?

Can it really be the solenoids or mayb the trans ecu is acting up ?

@update.

I got 2 codes which are
62 - solenoid valve #1 open or short
63 - solenoid valve #2 open or short

I open up the valve body and tested the 2 solenoids and they are clicking and working as they should i think.
The wires connection from ecu to trans is ok, no short no open circuit.
Whats the prob =/
