Default I need opinions please

I have an ES300 2002 with 181,000 miles always maintained 2nd owner.
My engine light keeps coming on and the code apparently reads that my catalytic converter is going out. It was suggested to me since I don’t have the funds for a new converter that I do a Carbon Flush with a 50/50 chance of making things last a bit longer! Can someone please educate me for I can’t find any answers on Google?
Thanks

Wow, carbon flush, never heard of that, sorry I cant help you on that. I see your in Cali, well, I think the best thing to do is replace the Cat. Cali has strict smog requirements and in order to get it smogged, you cannot have a CEL on, otherwise they will fail the car. Have you taken the car to a muffler shop to see how much it would cost to replace the Cat? Good luck bro.

What is the actual code you are getting? P0420? If so, PM me and i'll help you fix it. Had the same problem w/ my '98 when I replaced my cat w/ aftermarket. I live in Ma. which has almost as strict standards for emissions as Ca.
