Mobil 1 fully syntatic engine oil
#2
If you know that your engine is clean inside and there is not any sludge then use synthetic. I switched to Mobil 1 synthetic at 168,500 in my Legend and I am now at 169,300. My car ran regular conventional for all its life before I switched.
Many people may say that it causes problems when you switch but I experienced nothing but good things. It runs great with no problems. And synthetic is better for cold starts which is good when it gets cold here in Seattle.
Always use a good filter like OEM and WIX. Also use 5W-30.

I would switch. I currently am in the process. My 93 ES300 has 240k. Conventional oil its whole life as well. I changed the oil once when I first bought the car and put in regular high mileage oil in. It currently leaks....was real bad when I bought it and I tightened my vavle bolts and has helped a ton. While it was leaking I was putting in synthetic motor oil. Mixing the two. I have been told many times that you should have a synthetic blend before going full synthetic. So I still have about 1000 miles to go or so before changing it. But thats only if its dirty. I cleaned the engine up of sludge with the help of seafoam and another product that helps with sludge. Its almost as clear as it was when I but it in. It really hasnt leaked all that much either. Maybe a court so far....tops. But next oil change I will go full synthetic. And I am/have been buying walmarts Syntech synthetic motor oil. I figure synthetic is synthetic. They all have to measure up to standards and regultions and what not. Also its made by the same company that makes pennsoil and a few other big names. Cant remember...terrible memory sorry. Anyways I would do a mix first then go fully synthetic. Just my 2 cents. But I have heard people say they switched on the spot one day and it was fine. but deff go synthetic it has many many positives and the only negative really is its cost. Which for me I buy the cheap stuff. I did do a ton of research though before buying. Read many customer feedbacks. But after I found out its a big company that makes many other very good big name oils I was sold. Its sooo cheap but is identical to Pennzoils Synthetic oil. Cant go wrong.
