Spring Clip

I wouldn't put them on my car, I tend to take mezoom's point of view. I suppose it might be an option for a car that's really not worth doing much with, but you're driving a Lexus, treat it well and like the classy car it is.
Also, if you don't clamp all 4 springs exactly the same, you can end up with problems from the suspension being uneven. That's the same reason I wouldn't heat and compress or cut springs. Also, when you do either of those, you're changing the springs from the way they were originally designed and this can have undesired side effects.
IMHO, just shell out the cash for some springs that are designed for the car. I've got B&G's on mine, $250 for the set and I'm very happy with them.
Also, if you're lowering the car, you should upgrade the struts as well. A lowered car puts more stress on the struts and the stock ones won't last too long.

I've been lowering cars and trucks for over 10 years now and have used almost every method available. The clamps and heating methods are what we used to do about 10 years ago when we couldn't afford the proper ways. It has been my experience that the spring clamps will not hurt anything. They are removable and the spring rates are unchanged. The heating method is the worst method, however. When you heat metal, it weakens it. Therefore, you have changed the spring rate of a spring you have heated. Plus over time, the springs will sag or compress more than desired and will have to be replaced. Once you have heated them, you have ruined them. The best way to go is with new drop springs and shocks. But the clamps will be ok if that's what you want to do.

ok, IMO if they were that similar, toyota would have never come out with both the camry(gracia) and windom in japan. they have distinct differences.
