ok car is done - they replaced the valve shim buckets = some gaskets and seals - replaced the motor mounts - and some other things they found - 1699 labor - 388 in parts - 35 tax for a total of 2123.77 -_-
bottom line,yes, the dealer ripped you off.....its the dealer. never take ANYTHING to them is my motto unless its a warranty issue

Car runs great now - so a bit expensive - but I am glad its done I know my wife will be safe.

Thanks for the feedback. Valve clearance inspection/adjustment is supposed to be done at 60 K, 120 K and so forth, but it is fairly neglected because of the high labor charges, specially at the dealer. Well..., at least you won't hear that annoying tick noise for the next 100 K miles!
