Cat Bank 2 Sensor replacement
I just took my car to the Lexus dealership because my check engine light was on. They run diagnostics and proceed to tell me that it is my "cat bank 2 sensor" and they cost $400. The total for the repair will be $700. it sounds like a rip-off to me so I am wondering if it is something hard to replace and where is it located? I have done some googling and it doesn't sound that hard to replace. I would appreciate any advice or suggestions.

I spoke with the lexus dealership and they said it was the "Bank 2 Forward Sensor" and that it was close to the exhaust manifold. All of the techs were at lunch at the time and the guy I talked to did not know the code that came up.

I hate the dealership. They are so full of it! I got someone to put on my Bank 1 Sensor 1 for $30. Check Engine light off...part cost me about $102 at Advance Auto. Also, they should of specified in the diagnostic EXACTLY what you need. My Lexus Stealership did the same thing to me for my airbag light. Paid them $105 for NOTHING!

I had same issue
Air Fuel Ration Sensor....had 2 changed.
I failed smog....still failed but the numbers were a vast improvement.
Have a 2000 rx 300.
I'm good for 2 years now...since I spent $400 for "Ca State" repair.
Still have issue with a crack near the sensor on the manifold.
Can't seem to find the part on Rock Auto.....
need help on this one.
Of course I'll need to change the gasket.
Can the manifold be a DIY?
costs?
thx guys
