Ha, you guys kill me, i know the relay is just 16 bucks, but its 16 bucks that could go to tired i need extremely badly.

Here is what i am going to do, i am going to not buy the relay and if everything goes well i will not get one, if i sense things to go wrong i will buy it.

Its actually the entire wire harness that you will need which would have a relay built into it. So its not just a relay your gonna need.
I dont see how your going to be able to "sense" your wiring over heating or switches melting inside your dash but it is your call :-D Enjoy the HID's just make sure you aim them correctly!

The relay is attached to the harness. That is all you need.

The only time and common misconception regarding relays, is those stupid 'hid headlight super bright bulbs'.

Yes, those generic 'blue' bulbs from eBay. THe only reason they are brighter is because they are overpowering your OEM wires since they are 100W, whereas OEM would be 55W.

In this instance, that's asking for trouble! Hence a relay is key with something like that, as the wiring would burn before the bulb would.

Second, the HID kit, as i mentioned already doesn't require a relay since the OEM wiring is not feeding more power thru the wires than the car can take.

It gets the same 'jolt' of power as do your OEM bulbs. With that said, do you too have a relay for your OEM bulbs? I think not.

Therefore relay harness = useless. Also, it helps that it looks like **** in the engine bay, as it clutters up the install with useless and random wires all over the place.
I have to agree with 01LEXPL. On my old car I used one of those fake HID halogen bulb that was rated for 75 watts and standard was 55 watts, anyways, I about cooked my wires trying to power a 75 watt bulb. HID kits have the ballast, and the job of the ballast is to amplify the power to the HID bulb and if you have noticed the wiring from the ballast to the bulb is a thicker gauge than then the OEM wiring that connects to the ballast.

I have a 1996 ES300 by installing any 35w kit do you recommend I have car set to HID? Because I bought an 8k kit bi-xenon for my Benz back in 06/07 and it flickered until I had lighting set to HID instead of keeping it set to halogen.
