Default Good way to ground new head unit?

Replacing factory hu with Nakamichi cd45z. Usinf metra harness I hear alot of noise- believe it may be bad/inefficient grounding. As you may all know (those who installed their own head units) most of the behind the headunit area in the es300 are plastic - where/how can I get good proper grounding to my headunit?

Are you talking about engine whine?

If you installed with your metra wiring harness (and plugged it in properly) , your new head unit would be using the same ground your old head unit did... which in my car was a space of metal lower and to the right of the dash opening...

Many people have tried to overcome this grounding problem, but I just bought and istalled an aftermarket amp, that solved it for me.

Thats where I also had my new radio grounded at first, but I also have other amps running now, so no more problems. i never had a problem though the first time.
