Brake System Overhaul - Seized Calipers

decypher, I just wanted to add something. For removing rusted rotors from hubs you can't use a dinky little hammer.
I use a 4 pound rubber mallet and usually 1 or 2 good swift smacks towards the FACE of the rotor, not the rear will pop them right off.

Or............and axe. Use the blunt side. Smash the crap outta it (again, if you are going to chuck the rotors).

The rotors were probably about 3 years old and had been "turned" once the year prior but this car sat parked for about a year or so... it even sat through a pretty rough winter with lots of snow. I wacked the crap out of those old rotors with a framing hammer and they would not budge lol. A heavy rubber mallet is probably a better idea especially if the rotors are salvageable.
At the time I did buy the jack and jack stands to do this job but I also knew that the suspension needed to be replaced. I figured the savings in labor and parts mark-up would certainly pay for some new tools.
Just recently I picked up a set of Gear Wrench flex-head ratcheting wrenches and a Gear Wrench stubby set to change out the spark plugs and BOY AM I GLAD I PICKED THEM UP! Lol.. It's a little tight under that intake plenum but the 5 degree ratchet increments those wrenches provide can be a time / life saver!
