Brake light bulb change?
So I try googling this and searching this, but it was kind of confusing, so I was hoping someone could clarify.
the rear brake light went on for my ES300 1998, and my friend told me my light on the right when i brake is out. Now I'm assuming this is just a bulb, and could be semi easy to do before I just bring it to a mechanic to do for me.
What kind of bulbs am I looking for (the number on just autozone for example confuses me), and is there a guide I can follow to DIY?
Now I read something about connector wires and it may be really hard to pull the lights from the back.. and it's all very confusing.
But I'm a really poor student and a girl, so I hoping maybe coming here someone can tell me if it would be possible for me to do it and just buy the bulb.
Thanks!

I haven't needed to change any bulbs on my 01 ES yet, but on others car's is often as simple as removing the trunk padding near the respective taillight and either twisting bulb holder from the socket or removing the taillight screws to remove the taillight and then twisting the bulb holder. Then usually twist and pull the bulb. If the manual doesn't specify the bulb, you can just walk into any autoparts store and flip through the booklet in the bulb section and locate the bulb type.
Changing bulbs in a car is perhaps the easiest thing to do.

Ask if the autoparts store clerk can help you remove, buy, and install the brake light bulb. I know they usually don't mind doing this for car batteries, so it may not hurt to ask.
Replacing a burned-out light bulb is the easiest maintenance process you can perform on your car. It is outlined in detail in your vehicle manual. That being said, check out some youtube videos if you're more of a visual learner. Most light bulb replacement procedures follow similar steps.

hmmm the owners manual refers you to the stealer, but its pretty easy to do.... the bulbs are accessed on the front of the light fixture (towards the front of the car), to access them the fixture must be removed from the car, they are held in by many small nuts, I believe the magic number is 5, either 10mm or 8 mm, don't remember which. The are behind the trim in trunk. The trim is held in place by plastic fasteners, also the top trim has to be removed also, very gently pry it up look for small round plastic discs on the back trim,,,they hold the trim in place.... you may be able to find a vid. on you tube specific to your model....good luck
