Default Need your opinions on a 2002 ES300 purchase

A friend of mine was looking at 2007 Corolla w/56K miles he could get for $8,000. I am telling him, hey you could get a 2002 ES300 w/107K for a few hundred more. I have a 1999 LS400 and I am sold on Lexus, but my friend is concerned about 107K being "high mileage" and more money to keep, compared with a Corolla.
Any ideas are welcome, I will have him read this thread.
Thank,
Val

The ES is considerably larger than the Corolla. It also depends on whether fuel economy or comfort is the main concern.

Default 2002 es300

I don`t think 107K-113K is very high mileage for the 2002 ES300, what do you guys think? Found a mechanic that specializes in Toyota and Lexus in Golden,CO that does V6 timing belt for under $400, have him buy parts or bring your own. As I look at it, the car has to be in good condition cosmetically (paint, leather, etc.), mechanical parts are oftentimes easier to change.

I would go for the ES if I had to decide. The high-ish miles wouldnt bother me in the slightest. Our ES is just under 170K and still in great condition, with no major problems.

Plus I think the Corolla looks like a teenage girl car

The car is a Toyota Camry when it comes to the mechanical side. It's going to be bulletproof as long as the car gets its maintenance done.
