Post Cluster light Problem?????

hello fellow CL members. Im having trouble with my cluster lights, heres the deal when I get in my car and turn on the ignition my dash doesnt light up anymore. When I smack it a few times it comes on, but I cant tell if its a bulb problem or a faulty wire?? I brought some bulbs for it off of ebay but I wanna make sure thats the problem before I take the cluster out of the vehicle.

Should be the bulb. The connectors in the cluster are pretty solid. I tested the strength of the wires a few times by pulling on them. In any case, taking out the cluster is a simple task. I just want to encourage you to use a penny taped to your fingers when pulling out the tabs from the back. Otherwise your finger might be a bit sore if you don't do that

Is it like a loose wire?

Loose wire for what? The bulbs are probably burning a slow death for you right now, hence the flickering. Just take it apart, clean the contacts of the cluster with rubbing alcohol, and reinstall with new bulbs and it should be fine

thanx guys it worked for me nd good looking on the taped penny trick because my finger tips was getting pretty hammered lol. But to answer your question the needles are already red nd if they are out you can find some replacement needles on ebay like I did. Nd the bulb size is t-1 3/4 size bulb, you can get them off of ebay too, I only paid $4 dollars for mine. But anyway good luck

I'm hella confused now. Are you referring to the cluster backlighting or the needle?

Glad it helped. I dropped a penny once but it just ended up where the steering wheel was but I figure taping it would work better for you all so you don't freak out about dropping it like I did LOL
