Overheating...bridgeed E1 & OP1 now what?
1992 lexus es300. My power steering leaks, sometimes i just let it go and dont fill it. Recently the car has been overheating. I noticed the fan is running slow when hot. I've heard sometimes its an electrical plug on the power steering pump thats disconnected, but I couldn't find the plug. I bridged the E1 & OP1 in the dignostics port and the fan ran alot faster, sucking more PS fluid. So do I leave the paperclip in there leaving them bridged? Its kind of loud/sucking sound. Thing is, it wasn't overheating when the powersteering fluid was bone dry, so why now is the fan not kicking in like its suppose to? Any pictures of this plug? Thx

My fans on my 94 hardly run at full speed even on a hot 90F day. The plug on the pump is hard to see but its on there took me a while to find but mine was plugged in. You shouldn't let the power steering go low because the fans run off the power steering fluid.

Just bridged e1 and op1 and the fan spins fast now, but i took it for a test drive and it still overheats fairly fast. Now what? The radiator looks pretty rough, any suggestions? Should I replace it...would a radiator flush help. Thanks
