I have noticed for a while now that my RPMs are running higher than ususal. I told my mechanic about it and explained that when i'm doing 60mph, my RPMs are at 3000. I started noticing just for the past couple weeks, that the RPMs would stop running high and back around the 1500 to 2000 range when I'm 60mph, and i can feel the shifting bring it up to 3000 after a while of driving. My mechanic told me that the transmission is not down shifting like it use to and eventually will go out. I was wondering if any one of you all have had similar issues.

yeee i just reached 100,000 miles today...did all the major maintenance so far. i will check the manual to see if there is any major (like sparks or fluid change needed) service needed. Will do DIY oil change over the weekend..m luvin this car

always check ur manual for what maintenance is required. And basically its just oil change and topping all fluids. Did u also replace the timing belt that was required? if so then u should be good. i am going to change oil this weekend with Valvoline (its on sale for like 9bucks for a 5L can 
) . Also make sure both the cabin and engine filter is clean.

The wife has a 99 ES 300 with 171k.......She loves this car and wants to drive it till it dies......Major service was done at 92k when she bought it from her dad who was the original owner.....Stepson has a 2000 ES 300 with 77k on it.....He got it last year and was like brand new on the interior .....Just needed the major service done on it as the previous owner(my dad) didn't do anything to it but drive it and wash it.......
