Default nav question

My wife drives a 2002 ES300. It has Navigation. The screen went dark and I was wondering if anybody had a similar issue.

Thanks.

Also, it says it can't read the nav dvd. I checked the trunk mounted gps nav set up and it doesn't appear to have a disc. Really confused here.

Gonna need more info. Did the nav ever work, or did you just get the car? What do you mean "dark", it dims or turns off? Does the screen come alive when you tap any of the buttons?

Have had it since 2004. The nav worked great until a week ago. It comes on for a second, the Lexus sign flashes and a map comes on and then the screen goes dark (like it's turning off). then a pop up comes on and says it can't read the nav dvd.
Thanks for responding GoodRevs!
