Default Driving with hood open?

Someone accidentaly pressed the button to open my front hood. I was driving with it open for about a hour on the freeway before i stopped and realized. It seems normal but i'm worried something happened while driving

Yeah, if anything, your engine ran a bit cooler than normal because of the extra air flow. In some states it's even legal to not have a hood at all. All is well.

Most of the time, hoods will not fly up and open when driving... even on the freeway. There is the secondary catch that helps assure this. As for the previous pics, it is of a carbon fiber hood, not a stock steel hood. I'm not sure, and correct me if I am wrong, but I am guessing it didn't have the additional safety lock, if it is similar to a lot of other cf hoods. This may have contributed to the hood flying open. JM2C

for CF hoods, they recommend hood pins, cause the hood is too light the for the latch, causing it to pop off at highspeeds..
side note... hey my buddies matrix xrs is in that pic, haha

NOT SAFE, even with the backup latch @ 60 mph my hood flew open, bent the mounts and cracked the glass. I got lucky though the damage was not as bad as I expected but still could have been prevented.

As others have said, your lucky it didn't fly up and break your windshield. I think you should have played the lottery that day.
