I am not trying hate, but I totally understand what Lexpusher96 is saying, when I first saw the pic , my first thought was that it looked like a ford taurus looking type car, doesn't look like a Lexus, just my opinion, not a fan of the new body style, but if you like it that is all that matters.

Hey, I thought the car looked awesome until you all brought up the Ford Taurus reference. After glancing at the pics, I realized it DOES look somewhat like a Taurus now. A drop would make it look much much better and get rid of almost all of that Taurusesque look.

Well people, the FOrd Taurus was a HUGE styling risk, that WORKED. Influenced most all cars. The new ES is a huge departure from the last 3 generations. Ford Taurus looking is kinda harsh, we hate it when people call our cars Camry looking, no. I see some GS in the rear pillar but though it may seem ugly/weird, it looks like none of the competition.

Mind if I ask why you didn't opt for an IS or G35 instead? I don't see much youth appeal in a "couldn't be further from sporty" family car where the stereotypical driver is a 50 year old married person. I'm not dissing the car or anything...I have an '02 ES myself.

Anyways, nice to see an '02 ES with custom wheels! If you lower the car, be sure to take pix too.

I didn't go for the IS because it felt cheap and just wasnt for me. I wanted something more luxorious. I didnt go for and Infiniy because I have family that works for Toyota and I we got this for a great price. The sticker said $41,835, and we walked out the door $32,000 something so...

32,800... wow, great deal man! I think the car looks good, but i didn't realize how huge the fender wells are on the new generation. Now that everyone brings it up, the new ES does kinda look like the Taurus, but the back of it has a lot of the new Corolla in it, which i think the new Corolla S is a pretty tight lookin car.

Makes sense.

In Asia, I saw a version of the Corolla Altis that looked much like a baby ES, down to the headlights and chrome door handles.

The inside of the 2002 ES is so luxurious it should not even be in the same sentence as a Ford Taurus. Or any FORD for that matter. While I agree with some that the ES does have way too many similarities with a camry, and general acclaim for the camry design is non-existent, the car is still pound for pound, the most luxurious car I've seen IMO. And I drive a GS! Now, a lot of LS owners may want to challenge what I've said regarding pound for pound luxury but hey, 20K more is well, tough.

While I admit that the interior of the newer ES is so much nicer than that of my old *** '96 (which I just sold), we were not commenting on the interior. We were comparing the exterior as shown in dudes pic. There is a striking resemblance. And come on SICK, while the Taurus may have been a "HUGE styling risk, that WORKED", it still sucked. IMO, of course.
