Default 94 ES300 rear pasenger window went down, won't go up.....

I can hear the motor moving (not really a grinding noise though) but the window will not go up. What I'd like to do is to 'lock' it in the up position until I can figure out the real issue. Point me in the right direction?

Many Thanks!

You can physically lift the window up as you operate the switch. The window regulator is operated by a motor that winds a cable for the up and down motion of the glass. If this doesn't work, you'll have to remove the door panel and try lifting it up. Jamb a piece of wood to prop it up, until you can get to diagnosing it. Most likely, it's the regulator. Go to your local junkyard and practice opening the panel and removing the regulator/motor assembly. It's easier to install the motor and regulator as an assembly. I got mine from the junkyard for 40 bucks. The knowledge I gained was priceless.
