Car won't stay on after disconnecting battery
Everytime I disconnect the battery on my 2003 es300 and then connect it, when I go to start it it turns on but it immediately dies. So what I have to so is hold the gas and maintain the rpms higher and when I let go of the gas it will hd a very very low idle almost sounding like it is going to turn off but after ten minutes roughly it goes back to normal. I know that cars have to relearn their idling system but is it that much of a pain everytime I have to disconnect the battery?

Yes, the ECU has to reset and re-learn the sensors, re-calibrate, calculate the timing, calibrate the injector rates to get the A/F ratio correct at the O2 sensors, etc.
How often do you disconnect your battery?

Oh that is quite a few things. Well for now I am done disconnecting it but I was replacing my battery and alternator so it was becoming quite frustrating. However something weird occured after I disconnected it. My trac off light and my vsc light turned on on the dash and I can't get them to turn off. It rides fine and feels completely normal. Is there anything I can do about that?

I checked the lines and they all are plugged in properly. I wished it would have been that but the lights remain illuminated on the dash. Any other suggestions or ideas ?

I had the same thing happen to me when I went to replace some bulbs in the climate control console. First time I ever did any work on my father's '03 ES and when I went to start up the car the same results happened to me, scared the **** out of me because I wasn't familiar with that happening on any car. I'm still not sure what is entailed in performing an "idle relearn strategy" with those ES's?
