Trunk/gas lid open buttons down inside the door! '93 ES300
Yup, the buttons fell down inside. Two gaping holes in the armrest. Stupidest design yet. And, Lexus molded the switch recepticle into the lower door panel piece, so the only way to fix this is either 'a McGiver' or a whole new piece, which would fail anyway because the only thing resisting the pressure of your finger is a thin piece of plastic about 1/8" wide (see pic of the unbroken left side).
Actually, this happened once before, so I fashioned up a fancy steel bracket to hold it up/in, but it failed. This time, I took the simple route and drilled 2 holes through the recepticle and into the flanges cast into the switch. Done, for good, I hope.
