The Displayed Exterior Temperature is Incorrect
I have an 2001 ES300 with 63,000 miles on it. Just this week my exterior temperature gauge started displaying too low of a temperature. Today it said the outside temp was 80 degrees when I know for a fact that the true temp was in the mid 90's. It took quite awhile for the displayed temp to rise from a starting point of 76 degrees. It should have displayed over 90 degrees in a matter of minutes but it never rose above 80 and it took 15 minutes to get there. Does anyone know where the sensor is located and how would I go about testing/replacing it?

The sensor is located behind the front bumper, a few inches to the right of the ac receiver (close to the center of the bumper). It should read around 1.6 to 1.3 k ohms at 80 deg. Make sure that you check the connector for corrosion before you decide to purchase a new one.
