1996 es300 Tail light bulb access??
I need to replace a burned out tail bulb in my 1996 es300. When I open the trunk and pull back the liner, there doesn't appear to be any access at all to the tail light bulbs. Does anyone know how to replace or access them?

Our ES is a 94 model, but I would assume that the 96 has the same setup.
The tail light assembly is held in place by a number of studs that extend from the assembly into the interior of the trunk. There are nuts which screw on to these studs. I don't remember exactly how many there are, probably 3 or 4. As I recall, these nuts are 10 mm. A deep well socket works best for removing them. One of these studs is over toward the side of the car and is easily missed when you are looking for them.
After the nuts are removed, the assembly slides out; and you have access to the bulb sockets.

I really do think the "cleanup" of the stickies was the worst thing to happen to our forum. Its much more disorganized now...
