Default Battery time! Optima or Duralast?

Well my toyota battery is on its last leg ( been tested )

Out side of a stereo system should i go with Optima at around $175 or a Duralast Gold for $110

I been doing some searching and it seems that Optima quality has bit the dust. Any one with experience or suggestions?

PS. 95' Es300

According to Consumer Reports, the batteries that finished at the top of several different categories will surprise you. It was the "house" brands for Wal-Mart and Costco, EverStart Maxx and Kirkland. They actually finished above Optima. (I've also heard Optima quality has been going down)

Almost 90% of all car batteries come from only 2 companies, just different retailers put different labels on them.

I've just been buying my batteries from Walmart, they have a 3 year free replacement, and they're around $75. I really see no reason to spend more money.

Optima's quality has been down for the last decade already. Don't waste money on those.

Any battery will be fine, unless you live in extreme climate, which doesn't sound like Oklahoma to me.. The purpose of a battery is to start your car. It's the alternator's duty to supply power once the engine has started.

So i got the Duralast Gold today.

When i installed it, i found that the Toyota battery that was installed was a larger as in size width wise. It said it was a 24 but only rated at 550 CCA.

The new battery is a 35 which is what it shows for many sites. Thing is it is smaller then the battery i took out so it does not fully fill the battery tray. But it has more CCA as in 640.

Should i worry that i but in a smaller battery (size wise)?
