First post @ clublexus forums, been a long time lurker but now joining you guys.
I just went to autozone because my check engine light was on.
They hooked up the computer to the OBDII system and told me that my EGR Valve flow is insufficient.
THe guy said that I could just spray the EGR valve with a can of compressed air and that might fix the problem.
Does anyone know how to access the EGR valve on a 94 ES?
The guy at autozone said they usually are connected to the intake. Or do you guys think I should just take it in to a shop if its too difficult.
anybody else have this problem?
If your check engine light is on just go to Autozone and they will diagnose it for free!

welcome to CL. i have never really heard of EGR problems on an ES. i believe they are mostly on california cars. i'm not sure about the spraying thing. it might be easier to just replace the EGR sensors. i think It is located right by the throttle. kinda hard to describe but i will try to explain once i find it tomorrow morning. in the meanwhile stay put!

usually the egr modulator will go bad, but if it is the valve sometimes they do get buildup on them causing them causing them to not work correctly. so if you can get at it the compressed air might help. otherwise replace the valve
oh ya autozone can only diagnose OBDII computers so 94-up for th es.
