ES 250 Trans pressure issue...82K original miles Help!!
Hello from a newb, and thanks in advance for any help...
My 1991 ES 250 has only 82K original miles, ran like a dream from Colorado to IL and back...I did a trans fluid/filter swap with full synth before the trip, and all other fluids as well.
I was driving around town maybe 35mph, and my dog knocked the trans from drive to neutral. Once I realized what happened I put it back in drive, seemed ok...but next morning would not engage. In ANY gear/position.
After some tinkering, I finally pulled a cooler line hose and there is no fluid coming out in any gear. Trans fluid level looks fine on the stick hot and cold, I threw some extra in there to make sure. Fluid is not burnt and under the pan everything looks like new.
Seems like a pressure valve is stuck from what I've read, but any ideas on how to diagnose/fix this issue would be great. Since it has no pressure and won't engage in ANY gear, I've ruled out the electrical/solenoid issues. Anyone know where to find the pressure relief valve undre the pan?
Anything else that would block fluid to the pump or out of the pump?
Thanks much, if I can't get her rolling soon I will have to give her away, as I'm moving...
Cheers,
Mark

Hate to see you part with that gem. If there's a way you can get it to an AAmco and have them do a free trans diagnosis.
Sounds off the wall, but it worked for me, no hassle, here in NJ. They gave me an itemized estimate (motor, not trans issue), I said thanks and went home to fix it myself.
Any case, good luck man.
