I go to junkyards all the time. Probably about 2 or 3 times a month. Mostly to get parts for my aging Acura...
If you are in Washington I can tell you good places that have ES300s right now.
It really depends on what junkyards you go to. Some junkyards like pull-a-part, charge only about 30 for a hood and 40 for a bumper something like that. Others will charge 100+ for a hood. Ask the people working there for prices before you buy.
Also check craigslist for people parting out their cars. I have got many parts for the Acura and Benz on craigslist.

i need a hood as well, and like above guy, frequent the junk yards. there are many es300s around here, some with decent fenders but every hood on every junked es i have seen had the crinkle points cracked already.
also, the new after market fenders & hoods are more expensive on the 2gen than they are on the 3gen.
