What's the fastest you've cruised your ES?

...that was hecka funny reading the thread and seeing that dood saying we're lying.
i've told everyone that i was topping 130 on the freeway, racing some yellow celica, but cruizing speed would have to be on the 5 to LA, going 120 for a good 2 hours.
it's funny watching "cops" and hearing about thier high speed chases that top 95 or 100mph, when i top that by far on a daily basis on my way to work.
i think i have the longest drive yet most fun drive to work.
my job is about 50 miles away and i take straight country roads to get there.
i have fun.
oh...i'm rocking H rated tires, so i'm prepared.

I've just taken mine to about 110 passing trucks on the freeway, but I probably won't try to top it out. I can't think of a road around here that would be safe and cop free, and I can't afford to be taking those kinds of chances with my life.
I think it was Motor Trend that got the 92 ES up to 131 or 132, I've got the article around somewhere. I don't know exactly how they came up with those numbers, but I would guess they're pretty accurate.

This bryce8 dude doesn't know what he's talking about.
There is NO LIMITER in any '92-'99 ES, and I very much doubt the '00 and '01 have limiters also. The new style might.
I don't care is he's a service consultant or what, he's WRONG.
Oh yeah, I have road tests from C & D where they got the ES up to 130-135 mph, and I've had mine up to about that speed as well.

Yeah, I was going to say, when I hit 120 the other day, I wasn't at 6500, I was much lower. I don't know the exact number, but it wasn't 6500. 120 is my max... I don't plan on getting any higher, I might have tried that day, but I was getting too close to some traffic.

With our tranny's gearing, I'm guessing 6500 RPM in fourth gear would be about 145-150 mph. The car would run out of steam way before that, probably right after its 5200 rpm power peak.

If O/D was off it might only go up to 120?
not sure about it but i think i have gone about 105 with O/D off and my tach was pretty high (i think just shy of 5000 maybe?)
