Default HID Headlight Help

My '05 ES330 with factory HIDs had the driver's side low beam out. I bought a D2S bulb from NAPA and took it to a local shop for replacement. The shop swapped it out but it didn't fix the problem. Apparently the socket had 'burn marks' and the bulb was blown. The shop says that I need a new socket and the connecting wires. NAPA has a part number and specs but lists it as "not available'. The NAPA counter guy says that means it's a new part and he has no idea of the price or when it will be available!

I REFUSE to go to the local robber baron Lexus dealer for the part. Anyone know where I can obtain this socket/wiring so I can drive legally again?

Many thanks!

When a headlight with HID's goes out it's usually one of two things: the bulb or the ballast. You've just answered your own question; i.e. check the ballast.

just buy a new kit altogether on eBay. You spent what? 40$ on that ONE bulb?

A new GOOD kit it a whole 60-70$ - heck we have HIDEXTRA.COM as a sponsor on here with great reviews.

I just cringe when people recommend replacing high quality OEM HID compenents with the lower quality stuff. Yeah yeah I know some people may have had good luck with them but for the most part they are junk im sorry. Back in the day when I knew nothing about HID stuff I to used these types of kits and had many issues with them. Everything from bulbs not igniting, to different color output, to fried bulbs and ballasts only after a few months.
Again, its your call but me personally, I would never replace a good factory HID system with other aftermarket parts. Just find the right part and get it fixed you can also find OEM used parts on ebay for great prices I would give that a shot first.
Just my input and again we all have our own opinions and experiences but thats mine. Hope this helps.

^^ That's a valid point - i won't even begin to suggest the quality of Denso vs. aftermarket.

With that said, 150-300$ for ONE ballast, and 30$+ for ONE bulb is NOT cost-effective in my book. *used pricing i've seen on eBay...

I'll stick with my specific brand of aftermarket HIDs. It took 4 years for my kit to 'die' [and it was a ballast] and respectively, for the 53$ USD it costs me it's the best investment since i've seen how long it lasts.

Mind you i'd get maybe 3 more years out of an OEM kit, but for the fraction of the price to replace, like i said, after market will work for me
