?!?Power Antenna Wire?!?!
I just want to know if someone who has an aftermarket deck either who hardwired it or used a wire harness, what color the wire or wires were that were used for the power antenna. I had cut off my clips and I am putting in a new deck, and never had my antenna hooked up and I jsut want to have it now. Let me know if anyone can help. Thanks

I had my deck installed at a shop and they tried a bunch of things to get the antenna hooked up but they were unable to get it to work with my deck and amps.
I still get good reception though even without the antenna going up.
I am curious as well though if someone does know how to wire an aftermarket deck to the antenna

I think the key might have been mentioned in that post in the electronics forum. There's probably a second wire from the factory amp to the antenna that needs to be connected. I haven't gotten the chance to look into this yet, but if I do figure something out I'll let you know.

I've got a new deck/amp and I've got the antenna wired to go up and down, but for the life of me I couldn't remember what wire it was... Sorry man, I figured it out by using the metra wiring harness wire color list and the head unit diagram that game with my pioneer deck.
But just to let you know, it can be done.

I will just have to play around with it. I am getting my kenwood in dash dvd today, and will be putting it in in about 3 hours. I will just mess around with some things a little. Thanx anyway.

Adam, I used one that was posted, probably the one you're thinking of (I think there was a picture of the amp wiring with it), I had problems with it, the ignition wire from the diagram didn't work for mine. I had to use a test light to find the right wire for ignition.
