What is this part??
Hi everyone and Merry Christmas,
I have a broken part which I have had zero luck identifying. Can anyone help?
It's a solenoid-type device located on the backside of the air filter box assembly. It has a vacuum hose (about 1/2" dia) and an electrical connection. It is NOT the MAF sensor. The Denso part number is 084600-5480.
I googled the part number and found nothing.

Thank you for the reply. I checked on that and the IAC should be below the throttle body. This part is actually bolted to the air filter black box itself. It's very easily accessed and is almost centered on the back (firewall side) of the air filter box.

It's a Vacuum Switching Valve (VSV) used for regulating exhaust gas recirculation. It controls atmospheric bleed at any time when a certain set of parameters are met within the ECU. Basically, it allows/disallows exhaust gas recirculation depending on when it would help or hurt engine performance.
