Default Which lexus should I consider getting?

Hey guys,
I've been reading this site off and on for over 1 yr now. Finaly thought since I probally will be considering getting my 1st lexus I should introduce myself.

I will be graduating from scool next yr, and am debating which lexus to get. My budget is mid $15k range. Give or take a couple thousand $ too. I know I realy can't get too much for that, but it's a start.

I've been doing a lot of searching for cars on the net and have found pretty much 1 in each model that I like. But which to choose? I've found some 60k miled range early LS400's, some early GS300's with 70K mile range and some early to mid SC models with low miles too. All are pretty much in the same price range, and the ones with the least amount of miles are the SC's and LS's.

I'm not going simply for power or speed. And will doubtfully do any upgrades to increase HP. I also own a Stillen GTZ and Nissan 300zx. Those suit my speed issues fine. But if the car has some ponies from the start, that's fine. I'm not simply going for a bigger engine, but if it's got one that's just a plus.

More then anything I want comfort and reliability. And something that will run for EVER!!! One that when it gets over 150k miles I dont have to worry about.

If you guys can help me out that'd be much highly appreciated.

Thank you
-Michael

hey Mike i'm not sure putting this in the ES section was the best place but whatever sounds like your looking at LS,GS,and SC no ES??

no matter which you chose they are all good cars, better if they were taken care of the SC's and LS's have the least amout of miles because of cost and who bought those cars. all are RWD also except the ES.

The GS300 and the SC300 have the same engine. some say if you take care of it its good for 400k , i have yet to see that but low to mid 300k also same engine as the NA supra (93.5-98)
the SC300 has a power steering leak that happends almost like clock-work at 90k ..

the LS/SC400 has the 4.0L v8 and is also a very good engine and there are quite a few high milage V8 cars out there too.

if I where you I would try for a GS for a nice everyday driver .. a 2nd gen if I could but the lowest I have seen them is 22k ish. otherwise an SC .. just my opinion
goodluck

Michael- glad u decided on Lexus. They make great cars. Pretty much all the models are very reliable and will lost for a long time. If u want something in the mid 15k range thats comfortable and even has some decent power, I think an SC400 (the 2-door coupe) might be a good choice. It has a very nice grand-touring interior and has a very comfortable drive. Along with the fact that it has the 4.0L V8 with either 250 or 260 hp (someone correct me if i'm wrong). But really, u won't go wrong with any Lexus. Hope that helps you any.
