Question Want to lower my car.. Rookie needs help..

So I've finally decided to lower my car, and I need to do what I'm gonna have to do.. My entire front suspension is new(thank you Lexus friends) so putting in springs will be fine(currently a 2 4/8 inch gap looking for an inch less) but someone told me I risk having the tires hit when I turn the wheels all the way if I lower it, my wheels are 18x8 tires 225/45 r18.

My other issue is in the back it's almost too low, nothing wrong with the suspension( had it looked at) it's just old I guess and I get rub in back over bumps(about 1 4/8 inch clearance and I can push the car to the tire with one hand) . On the back I'm wondering if new springs will do what i want and keep it where it is since I'm assuming the springs are pretty worn, and stiffen it up, or just lower it too low...

I realize I'm flippin out on this but I'm a perfectionist haha thanks to anyone who has input in advance

Lowering the front and not the back is uttery stupid, and will make the handling a lot worse. And if the rear is rubbing now, it will rub more when it's lowered.

So I didn't say anything about just lowering the front and not the back dunno where that came from but thanks for being a douche about it. What I was trying to ask was whether the front would hit on turns, and if it seems like that's too low for the stock suspension and new springs would fix that. And it turns out that I was right and when I took out my sub from the trunk the rear lifted up the inch that I wanted to lower it, so adding springs would keep it the same height as it was before, and make it stiffer.

Have you rolled your fenders? If not, you probably should. But MAKE SURE you have it done by someone who knows what thier doing to avoid the paint cracking.

I think $50-$150. Varies widely just like tint prices. Luckily for you, you don;t have to worry about the rust when rolling the fenders like we have to in the North.

Rubbing issues vary, it depends on the size of the rim you are using, width of the rim, tire size, offset, suspension set up and if your fenders are rolled or not and camber. Lots of variables to consider. My current set up is rims are 18 X 8, offset of 40; tires are 225/40/18. I'm using 15mm spacers in the rear and my suspension is K-Sport Coilovers. I also cut my rear fenders, instead of rolling them. I'm lowered with a 1/4 inch gap from tire to fender. I recently had no gap, but was rubbing up front on non rolled fenders, was rubbing the fender liner and fender on turns or bumps. The rears I would rub slightly. I raised the car up a quarter inch all around and now no rubbing at all, even during bumps. That quarter inch raise made a big impact. Like I said earlier, many variable to consider.

first of all +1 to everything thats been said already. I had 18x8 G35 wheels on my 01 ES and it rubbed like a motha lol. I had 245/45/18's stock ride height so when you lower it you may want to go with a lower profile tire just to help with the rubbing issues and the fender roll is a must. Good luck!

Thanks! Yeah I'm hoping that the stiffer suspension will help
