Default Try powder coating at home

So those look pretty good. For the time you invested, you could try powder coating at home. Eastwood has a deal right now and their powder coating kit is only 99 bucks right now. You need an air compressor with a regulator that will regulate down to 8psi flowing, a dedicated electric oven, and the kit from Eastwood.

I bought the dual voltage kit a year ago and I have done all sorts of parts on my Yamaha VMAX, as well as my stock Toyota 4Runner wheels, which i did satin black.

It takes about 4-8 dollars worth of powder to do 4 rims. I bought my oven from a dude that smashed out the front glass during a move (thermal glass still intact), for 15 beans.

The powder coating process has been fun for me, and it is cheap. They make a chrome powder that is as close to chrome as you can get without chrome itself. You can get about any color imaginable from powderbuythepound.com

The greatest thing about the powder coating is that its UV resistant, fuel and oil resistant, and basically impact resistant. I recommend this for anyone who is a serious garage lounger. I even powder coated all my cabinet pulls in the kitchen! they look awesome.

I attached two pics, one is the rim blasted, the other is the satin black when finished. As a side note, these are 16" rims which is the max that will fit in my oven.
