Default will these tires rub?

Will I experience rubbing if I put on 235/45/17 size tires? I plan on dropping the car 1.6", but if it will rub then maybe I will do the eibach 1". Thanks for your help

I wouldn't think they would rub. I have 225/35/19's on my '96 and sometimes it rubs if I hit a bump with people in the back.

235/45/17 is the largest tire that will fit on the ES. It will be a tough squeeze with the drop. Shoot for 225/45/17.

I speak from experience, the 235's will rub. I started out with 235/45/17 on mine and I hadn't even dropped the car yet and the tires rubbed. I even tried rolling the fenders, but that was useless also. I switched to 225/45/17 about a year ago and dropped my car about 8 months ago, and still no rubbing. If I were you, I would definitly be safe rather than sorry and go with the 225s

plus isnt 235 way too wide if stock is 205? i have a few friends with honda accords on all sortsa setups, those with 235/xx/17,18 all say steering is noticeably worse. accord is front wheel drive too if that makes any difference

I have 225/40's w/o a drop and am seriously considering passing on Eibach for the lower drop with Intrax.
