I had a Weapon-R intake on my 1998 ES300 and had the same issue intermittently. The Weapon-R intake is a dry foam filter, or least mine was. I kept gettting the CEL and finally switched back to my OEM intake system and no CEL, issue resolved. My CEL was a P0171, system too lean, bank one. If you look at the design of the OEM intake and look at where the 3 hoses are connected and compare it the Weapon-R intake, you'll notice a design flaw in the Weapon-R intake. All three hoses contected at the side of the intake and next to and behind the MAF sensor, as opposed to the OEM intake has 2 hoses connected upstream from the MAF and the other hose comes from the where the oil fill cap is at and connected downstream from the MAF on the OEM intake. The Weapon-R has all three hoses connected on the side and basically downstream and unmetered from the MAF sensor. I believe this unmetered air is what is causing the CEL P0171, system too lean. This design flaw applies to the Weapon-R intake, for the 97-01 ES300, non VVTI engine. This issue may apply to other Weapon-R intakes for the ES330 and ES350. I am no expert, but this is my conclusion after carefully looking at both intakes and the causes of a P0171 code.
