Default Transmission Flush

Im sure it has been discussed a thousand times on here, and I apologize for my redundancy. I am planning on doing a fluid drain on my transmission (94 ES300). I Have already ordered a wix filter (with pan gasket). I have 2 questions-
What is this I hear about some crush ring on the drain plug? Do I need to buy this?
How much fluid do I need to buy for a simple drain and refill?

Thanks for the help in advanced!

if you're dropping the pan there will be more drips than a drain and fill. so you can catch it all and measure, or just wing it, add 3.75qt. and check the level when you're done, add more or suck it out. the washer is cheap insurance against stripped plug threads.
