Default Is something wrong with my cruise control?

Kind of a odd question but one of the only things that drives me nuts about my 00 ES300 is that the cruise control seems to reset if you slow below a certain speed. What I mean is say im cruising down a road at 50mph with the cruise set and there is a stop sign ahead. I slow and stop then proceed back to the speed limit of 50mph. On every other car I have ever owned you could simply hit resume even as slow as like 25 mph and it would bring you right back up to 50mph. Not the Lexus. Anytime you slow beyond a certain speed it resets and it will not resume you have to get up to speed on your own then hit set. I dont get it, this is the only car I have ever owned that does it like this and it kind of annoys me because the driving I do to and from work I use the cruise a lot with several stops on wide open roads.
Is there something wrong with my cruise control or is Lexus just goofy in this respect?

Every time you tap the brake, it stops cruise control completely. That is how it is in my '10 Camry, '96 ES, and '05 RX.

Why not? Ever drive a car with adaptive cruise control? its friggin amazing!! how about having a car accelrate AND brake for you and keep a set distance between you and the car in front? ;-)

Well I guess Toyota likes to do it differently than everyone else. Kinda different I guess but you guys did answer my question thanks very much.

So on the way to work today I played around with the cruise. So it turns out its not the brake that resets the cruise control resume function as eyezack87 stated above. I had my cruise set for 55mph and then I stepped on my brakes and slowed to about 35mph. I then simply pressed resume and sure enough my ES300 accelerated on its own back to 55mph. So I have determined what does reset it is dropping below a certain speed which seems to be right around 25mph. So this explains why when I come up to these stop signs I cant just press resume and bring me right back up to 55mph like most vehicles. Oh well not a big deal I was just curious thats all.

Thanks for the help.

Hit the brake at any speed, then just use reset.

Go under 25mph, settings are loost and need to redo it. Cruise also doesn't work before 25mph at all. I've tried, lol.

Yeah that's exactly how it works. Only difference is most cars you can hit resume even after coming to a complete stop. It will resume you to the last set speed once your back beyond 25mph.
