Hi all,

Look like the end is comming ... to my sweet ES very soon.

Currently she is in a coma with I have no spare $$$ to wake her up anytime soon.Old age is catching up and problems are surfacing more than I care to handle. The cylinder head gasket is gone and it going to be an expensive operation to make it rite.

I had to get another car quickly for my wife to use so the new member of our family is a 2008 toyota Aurion Prodigy with 59,000 kms.

I just like to take this opportunity to say many many thanks to all of u on here for the precious advices / hints and opinions over the past years. I learned alot and contributed when ever I can to do my part in return.

OH man that's bad news.
If you can afford it, hang onto her and mothball her for a while. That way, if your fortunes gradually or suddenly change, you'll be able to give her a triumphant resurrection!

Just curious what is the cost roughly on something like that?

 

head gasket works roungly 2K... if u wanna do it right ... take everything apart top and bottom gasket and / or replace the engine completely.

I love the car too so I'm not done with her just yet ... at the moment she is a haven for spiders in the driveway.

I going to push my uncle in dropping a new 08 aurion engine in it .. the hardest thing is convincing a good electrician to wire her up. Finger crosses.

I guess my motto is true after all - 2nd Gen ES - the relenless pursuit of Modding.

Sad to hear about your ES 300. Glad you're still keeping her and maybe in the future you can ressurect her...
