2000 ES 300 Passenger Door To Window Issue

Looking at a 2000 ES 300. The car is in great shape. However, the passenger door did not shut as smoothly as the rest. I thought the door might have been hit. So I found out that if I roll the window down about ¼ of an inch it is fine. The window is making slight contact with the frame or channel piece or whatever you call it in the upper leftmost corner.
Since I am in Minnesota, I am wondering if this might be a cold weather issue? Does anyone know what I’m talking about and have an issue ?

When I was trying to fix a broken door handle, I removed the door panel and there was a bolt that I loosened that seemed to control the window and how it fits in the door, allowing you to adjust it's height. When I loosened that bolt, the window fell out of it's proper adjustment and when I shut the door, the window wasn't sealing properly. I re-adjusted the bolt and window to fit better and I never touched that bolt again.
That bolt may have something to do with why your window is out of alignment in the door, but I'd wait to hear other input as well as I may be totally off.

Had this same issue when I bought the car from my sister. She bought the car brand new and after a while she was having problems with the window hitting the black plastic channel above the window. It would hit it barely, but enough to hit it, but still close. Then when I bought the car from her, I thought the black plastic channel was separating from the car and assumed that by banging it back in place would resolve this issue. Nope, wrong, made it worse. Then several months ago I had water leakage problem on the passenger side floor board, so I took it the dealer and they ended up replacing the rubber seal that runs from the front of the car to the rear, the upper rubber seal to both doors was replaced. The Lexus tech had to adjust the window to fit against the new rubber seal. They adjusted the window and now it does not hit the black plastic molding and now the leak was also resolved. According to the tech, apparently the window was not properly sitting against the rubber seal causing water to run down the edge of the window and then into the car near the door jam. I would agree with Andy G, more and likely you will need to re-adjust the window.
