People mistake new ES as Camry

I guess I haven't seen the new ES and Camry enough up close to notice the differences. There aren't too many of either around here, and I haven't gotten a real long close look at them. I'd thought at a glance they look fairly similar, especially to someone who's not a car nut like us.

As a dentist I have owned several ES since 1994 and this Spring I traded in my old ES for a new 2002. I have so far encountered several such incidents locally that LexusPia mentioned that people are indeed mistaking the ES as a Camry. I don't recall ever experiencing such "problem" with the old ES. Do I really care? Not really because I love my car but I have to say both the new ES and Camry do look similar in the front. I believe people get confused because of the elongated headlights and the fact that there are a lot more Camrys out there than the ES. Hopefully the next generation will have a more distinct style to separate the two. Just my opinion.
