Default How bad is my air filter?? **PIC**

On a scale from 1-10 what would you rate the condition of my air filter?

Its been 3 years+ and ~18,000 miles+ (these numbers are based off of when I bought the car; could be a lot more) since my air filter has been changed. I didn't realize you were supposed to change it once a year . I always just kind of glanced at it, and if it looked whitish I figured it was good. What would you guys rate the air filter right now and does it need replacement?

My driving environment is in Florida weather and I usually make shorter trips <5 miles if that counts for anything. Car still drives excellent as well.

That's not bad. Then again air filters are a whole 10-15$ for the same one you have. Mine was far worse and change it once a year pretty much due to my climate and the dirty roads in the fall, spring and winters.

Not very bad but I recommend you change it anyway with Spring and Summer coming up.

Looks decent. The air filter changing is in my opinion at users discretion. If its dirty change it if its not why waste money on one when it doesnt need it.

Dont forget to take a look at your cabin filter. People are known to forget about those and I have seen some pretty scary cabin filters.

Not bad at all. Looks good for about another 10,000 miles. Blow it out with some air or tap it on the ground to get some dust out.

I wouldn't change it unless it would make you feel better and you have $15 burning a hole in your pocket that you need to get rid of.

I changed my cabin air filter 2 months ago and it was disgusting. Iam assuming it was the filter from when the car was new in 2001. It also doesn't help the weather conditions where i live are awful. For how easy it was to do and how cheap it was, i was surprised it wasnt done before

Problem is material breaks down over time with temps.
