Has anyone out there noticed a hollow sound when they close the driver's front door on their ES330? It just doesn't have that solid sound like it used to or like all the other doors. There's no rattle when driving. All the seals are in good shape. It almost sounds like there is no insulation in the door.

 

Yeah I know what you are talking about. I have the same issue in my 02. I think it's just from closing the door so many times compared to the other doors. It still sounds better than any American car when you close them. Just always remember to never slam your doors. Do you have some pics of your ES? Welcome to CL!

 

Same observation, I realized the other day that the doors don't have the nice solid "thunk" that my '98 had. But, now that there is a frame around the window, there are no wind whistles leaking around the glass at highway speed.

 

I, too, have experienced the same sound, although it seems/sounds like my tweeter is popping. I understand the popping sound you are hearing though. I still have no idea what sound it could be.
