Cam seal leak
I have a 99 ES 300 that is leaking oil from the rear cam seal. How hard is it to replace or put a temporary fix until the next timing belt change?

How do you know the rear cam seal is leaking, it's under the timing cover and behind the cam gear. Whatever the source of the leak, there is no real temporary fix, although you could try a high mileage oil, or Lucas oil stabilizer, these may slow down the leak until you can get to the repairs.

I don't know when you are due for a new timing belt, but either way, if the leaking oil gets on your timing belt it will ruin it. You will than be looking at bigger and more expensive problems.
So it's better to fix it ASAP.

I have it all apart, except for the timing belt. This is where the oil appears to be coming from. I better get a chilton and get started. Thanks for the advice.
