Default Ghost in a 2000 ES300 Platinum?

Got a weird, intermittent problem that hopefully someone can help with. FOB battery is dead so we have just been using the key manually on my wife's 2000 ES300. Every couple of weeks or so, we'll use the key to unlock the door or to lock it and several of the windows will go down partially all on their own. A couple times, even the sun roof will open a little or tilt up. No one is in the car and it has happened in wet weather and completely dry weather. I did a quick search on here and couldn't find anything.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thats a feature that the ES has. You keep your key turned for a few seconds and the two front windows and sunroof will start going down. Let go, and it'll stop. Keep going and the windows and sunroof will go down. It works with closing the windows and sunroof too. Just turn the key the opposite ways.

That has happened to my parents before when they need to move my car since they only have the spare key and no fob. I've known about this feature for a while and love showing it off to my friends. It's pretty convenient when I forget to roll up the windows after I get out of my car so I don't have to get in, turn the car on, and roll up the windows...

I would have been taking it in to have the electrical system looked at. LOL. God love the folks at Lexus. Thousands of features, and none of us know all of em yet.

Another not-so-well known feature that I use often is that you can press the lock button on the fob twice to turn off your headlights. This also works on many Toyota models.

What year does this start? I'm 97.5% sure that my 98 doesn't have either of these features...

Off topic.... but QuachmanES, which tires are you running on the IS rims? I have the same wheels with with some Kuhmos (215/50/17) that I need to change soon. I dont wanna get Kuhmos again, so just wondering what you have and if you like them.

Yeah, figured that one out. I have an '05 that does that. HOWEVER, if the trunk is open and you double punch the lock button, my lights don't shut off until you close the trunk. Guess for gettin groceries into the house.

My keyfob if I hold unlock rolls down all the windows and opens the roof. If I hold the lock, it just sounds the horn and flashes the lights.

Local shop near me gave me Firestone Performance Touring tires for $474 out the door and that included an alignment, road hazard, free rotations and balances. The local Firestone shop couldn't even match that price and they had the same speed rating. So far, I like the ride (about 1,000 miles in). Had Kuhmo KH16's on previously and they didn't last but that was more of a function of getting the screws put to us by a different tire shop and them not doing an alignment even though I paid for one. Only got a little over 20k on them but it was due to uneven wear and I was a little lazy in my checks of the tires.

I'm runnin Bridgestone Turanza EL42's that were put on prior to my purchasing the car. The only thing I have found on them is that they are a blend of touring tire and sport tire. The seem to run real well.
