Question what do you think about selling my es 98

Hi guys , i need your opinion about a hard decision ... selling my car.

i own a 1998 lexus es 300 that i bought las year at lexus dealer . im the second owner ( last was a 54 yo that gave it to lexus in exchange cause he bougth a new one )

i have all lexus record and carfax.

i never had probleme with it exept that someone tryed to steal my snow tire and never done his job so i lost a rims ... my rigth fender is in bad shape but i have a new one , just need to paint and instal it ( next week cause school will be done )

except this little thing, my heated seat (both) doesnt work (i bought like this)

i have new tire on mags and i give 4 toyo go2 wintertire on rims ( good for 2 winter or more)

inside the car is really mint condition , maybe the driver seat show some wear but nothing important ,

the car have 164 000 kilometer ( maybe 93 000 miles if im right)

ummm what else ....

front disk are new from this winter and rear from 1.5 year .

front caliper? ( étrier de frein ) are new from this month.

equiped with ajustable suspenssion... all option exept heated seat work

oil changed every 4-5000 kilometer

washed every week waxed every month ...

rustfree ? traitement every year , so no rust at all.

i asked 5000 $ can for the car ( non neg)

there's some pics of the car

Why are you thinking of selling it? If you do sell, what would you replace it with?

The heated seats on these cars have a habit of burning out the element, so that may be what is wrong in your car. Only way to repair it is to remove the seat, and then remove the leather upholstery, not an easy job.

You are not going to get 5K for it... sorry.

5-6k gets you a 2001 with less mileage...

1998, more like 3K for it, maybe 3.5k if you wait around for a buyer

i see you have the active suspension button between the seat heaters. If so then what adjustment settings are there. And by changing it do u feel any difference in driving?

yes i feel deference , i have 4 option , 1 its sport 4 its confort , 2-3 are between .. usually i put at 2 , its more sport but still confortable when i hit some hole . 1 its very stiff , you feel everything 3 its normal , and 4 i never put cause feel like a boat .

some ppl will tell you that they see no difference but i see BIG deifference between 1-2 and 4

Looks pretty good except the dent.
Personally I would not sell it but the choice is yours of course.
$5000 usd is reasonable but you probably could get more if you fixed the dent.

Use autocatch in your area then. I searched es300 in Ontario and those are the prices. Did you see the link I posted above? Probably not.

You may not like it but these cars don't have the best resale, and the market show that. Perhaps montrealers, like getting ripped off? lol

The AVS feature is pretty cool, and other than that dent it looks to be in ok condition. Heated seats may be important in Canada though, a buyer may not like broken ones. Prices up here are higher than elsewhere in the country, a 2000-2001 with say 75k would be around $7.5-9k. So if you were selling your 98 with 93k in it's condition in New England I'd say you could expect around $4-5k, so maybe your $5k expectation isn't all that bad.

tanks , for the broken heated seat , dont think it matter that much ... some one came here to see it ( the car) this morning but i choked to sell ... not for sale anymore , the fender is nothing , anyway i have a black one , just need to paint and instal it , i'm also supposed to meet my friend who is electrician and repared many seat ... i spoke to him like 2 weeks ago and he told me that ( becaus both light on botton light up ) it may be something disconnected or just a fuse random that i didnt see ...

if you go on www.lespac.com , and you do a search for an es 300 , i'm the cheapest one , all other are like 6750 7500k with 250k kilo... but now doesnt matter , ill try to keep this car until it die , after maybe i'm gonna buy a es 350 , they are like 25k at my lexus dealer (used like 2007-8)
