Car Shake When Shift From N to D
Every time, when shift from N to D, the whole car will shake once.
Not a little, other car can see it at the traffic light stop.
Do the engine mount need to be replaced, or anything else.
Any ideas?
I also noticed this when starting at an up-hill incline, engine will make strange noise.
If reduce the gas, the noise will reduce too.
Is it related?
Normal driving is silky smooth. Does not shake when idling or running.
The Rubber does move forward.

Lexus Test Driver
One way to test motor mount:
- have someone sitting in the driver seat with the engine running (in D) and while with brakes on, give a little gas
- you stand outside and watch if the engine tilts back and forth

The mount does not look correct -- I can not see the rubber but it looks torn?
Whenever you have an unusual problem like you are describing it should be checked out ASAP.
When one of the many mounts holding the transmission and engine suffers a major failure it puts stress on all the other ones as well as allowing the engine/transmission to move more than it is designed to do - stressing the connections to the motor/transmission. Ie -- exhaust -- wires -- coolant hoses transmission lines - linkages.
The car need to be checked out -- don't wait.
