Different rims

!!!! for real? Well then I hope you enjoy your stay, however long it will be, just hope the light showers that we've been having recently lately doesn't spoil your vacation time.
As for spacers, that depends on the spacer itself, I've seen spacers that you just fit over the wheel studs, and I've seen spacers that actually comes with studs, which then bolts directly onto your existing wheel studs.
I think the reason why mechanics hate working with them is because they have to change out the factory studs for longer wheel studs.
Which spacer is best to use, I unfortunately don't know.

This is probably what you should look for. if you do end up getting something like this, make sure the wheels you are going to use, will have adequate clearance before hand, otherwise you might run into a problem where the wheel itself does not clear the original bolts. Most wheels however shouldn't have any problem, but best to check before hand.

A 5mm spacer does not require longer studs to be punches in. They are considered slip on with retaining the stock studs. Once you go bigger than 5mm, it's best to use the ones with the extended or built in studs as the hub center bore is no longer making contact with the wheel bore.
Long story short, take one rear wheel at the shop and roughly put on a couple of washers to get a rough idea of 5mm clearance without actually buying the rims or spacers and not having a guaranteed fit.

So technically, i should be able to fit 245/40/18's on my rear with a 5mm spacer and without getting longer studs with a stock suspension and it hypothetically, it will not rub?
I was looking through the sticky thread of es's on rims and i saw a few guys who were running 245/40/18's on sc rims on lowered supensions and didn't mention havign any problems
