'96 ES300 Antenna Replacement
Hi. My es300's antenna is not going up or down anymore. I can hear the motor going and MAYBE a grinding noise? I got another antenna from pick-n-pull for $20 and I'm not sure how to take the old one out and put the new one in.
Should I take it to the local Toyota dealer and see if they can replace it? I don't think it's under warranty anymore (it's got 200,800 miles) and how much might they charge if they do?
I might be going tommorow or sometime soon anyway since the battery in the key is dead and I don't want to risk breaking it replacing it myself.
Also, just found this out with my handy code reader, needs a new knock sensor. How the F do you replace these? From what I read I have to remove the entire intake system?
How much are these things anyway? Kragen wants $300 for a pair of them, but it'll take about 3 days for them to get to the store from their warehouse.
If I decide to do everything myself, how long should it take? Sorry for such a long post...I need a reply by tommorow afternoon....
