Default What Gas Are You Using?

This ties into my last thread regarding gas mileage...

For those of you that have owned an ES for a while, are you guys using premium gas all the time, or mid grade, or regular?

Also, of the national brands, any in particular you guys use? When I owned my Acura, I used Shell 93 ALL THE TIME, but not sure if thats the same with the Lex.

I use 91 Octane Non-Ethanol. It just makes sense to use gas without ethanol if it is available.

I use 87. I see no difference in MPG from 87 to 91.

Most the time i use Philips 66 87 real gas. This tank i am on QT gas 10% blend. 90% city driving i see 17-19mpg. Lately been 17 due to ac being used like no other.

They call for regular fuel -- not high compression engines. No need or benefit in using a higher octane fuel.

I've been using regular from ESSO here in Cayman, from the past 6+ years of driving, I haven't really noticed any difference between the 87 regular and the 94 premium.

I know my 94 ES300 calls for midgrade but says you can run 87 with no issues.

87 octane w 3 ounces of acetone per tank every five tanks. so dont do it too often. this amt leads to better mpgs an also doesnt burn up ur o rings on ur injectors or ur gaskets during ignition. i got 250 miles EASILLLYYY on a nearly full tank using this trick.

Just topped up myself today, with 87 gas. last time I topped up was about 3 weeks ago, my first click was at 12.632 Gallons @ $68, I kept going till I hit $75 which was a total of 13.832 gallons.

I traveled a good 462 km's since my previous fill up, my calculations work out to be about 33 kmpg. Unfortunately I'm not truly sure if my calculations are correct, also please take in mind that i'm using a 2.5L engine opposed to everyone's 3.0 motors.

If my calculations are wrong, can someone enlighten me on the correct method of calculating mpg? (send me a pm - to keep thread clean)

Oh! cool, I knew something was off. (i'm not the brightest tool in the shed) it seems that I forgot the one small, but important factor here... convert the km to miles first oh well, thanks for the correction! 22 mpg it is

Hmm if i'm getting 22 mpg on regular.. I wonder if I could actually get more using premium. I'll need to try that out.

87 here.

Try to use 100% gas if a station near you still sells it. You'll get better mileage.
